Chalk Circle Songs – After composing for a Ten Thousand Things Theater production of Brecht’s Caucasian Chalk Circle I turned six of the songs into a set that could be performed apart from the show. This setting is for female voice, violin and percussion. Connected by Nature – This set of three songs are settings of poems my grandmother wrote. We only learned that she had a notebook of poems when she was 90 and failing — I especially loved these three and set them in time to share them with her before she died.
